BEKO TECHNOLOGIES | History
Everything started in 1982 in a small backyard garage in Düsseldorf, Germany. With many experiments and simple means, Berthold Koch develops the first electronically level-controlled condensate drain out of a brilliant idea: the ground-breaking BEKOMAT®. This invention not only solves one of the biggest problems of compressed air processing, but also represents the first step on the way to success of one of the leading companies for compressed air and compressed gas technology in the world.
"BEKO was and is an independent family business and I want it to stay that way. We have defined our objectives, paved the way to get there, and set clear milestones. Together with our customers and partners, we will continue and retain this course. Upstanding, reliable, and independent of any foreign interests."
Berthold Koch (April 25, 1950 - October 26, 2007)
The Company Through the Years | A Success Story
Small roots grow to become something great.
In the early years already, the company, still young, counts on innovation and growth. After having brought the BEKOMAT® to the market, solutions for condensate processing are developed. Within a few years, they make BEKO TECHNOLOGIES a company leading in condensate technology throughout the world. At the end of the 1980s, the continuous growth of the company requires the move into new, larger business premises in Neuss. The first subsidiaries were are founded in the UK and the USA.
1982 BEKOMAT®
The first electronically level-regulated condensate drain system and still the worldwide standard today.
Moving forward with new ideas.
With a greatly expanded product portfolio of DRYPOINT® compressed air dryers and CLEARPOINT® compressed air filters, BEKO TECHNOLOGIES initially set the benchmarks for compressed air processing and, also throughout the 90s, continued on the road to success. In line with the course of expansion, subsidiaries were also formed in France, Italy, and the Benelux region.
A continuous growth and innovation process which is growing in dynamism. The DRYPOINT® M membrane dryer, for example, develops into the worldwide leading special solution for compressed air drying for point-of-use applications
1995 DRYPOINT® M
The particularly efficient compressed air membrane dryer for processing at the point-of-use.
The company grows with its aspirations.
The expanded range of products and the global commitment consequently lead to the change of the corporate name from BEKO Kondensattechnik GmbH to BEKO TECHNOLOGIES GmbH. The global orientation of the company still progresses with new subsidiaries in China, Japan, Scandinavia, India, and Spain.
Through shares acquired in EVERAIR TECHNOLOGY in 2007, the range of products and services is significantly expanded, and dryer solutions for large volume flow compressed air applications opens up new markets to the company on an international level. In addition, qualitatively top-grade measurement technology to ensure production processes complements the range of products.
An end – far too early, and a new beginning.
In 2007, shortly after the 25th anniversary of the company, the founder of the company, Berthold Koch, suddenly and unexpectedly passes away. Without a doubt a tremendous tragedy in the company's history, but one which is overcome with grace thanks to the vitality of the enterprise. With the quick appointment of a new management board, recruited from longstanding employees and the managing shareholder family, BEKO TECHNOLOGIES keeps its entrepreneurial continuity, strength, and independence.
Period of expansion.
Logistical and production challenges resulted as a requirement for opening new production facilities in India (Hyderabad), the USA (Atlanta), and in Germany (Netphen). This was then followed by the expansion of the production facility in Neuss to over 100,000 square feet (9,500 square meters), the opening of a production facility in Shanghai, China, and BEKO Instruments in Löffingen, a production facility exclusively for measuring technology. BEKO TECHNOLOGIES has hereby always continued to fulfill its obligation to maintain the highest standards of quality.
We came out of the economic crisis at the end of the decade even stronger and the company celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2012. Many successful projects have increased the company's alignment towards system solutions, for example, providing oil and germ-free compressed air for the food industry, or in the field of commercial compressed air supply for the automotive industry.
Superbly prepared for the future.
As an innovative technology leader, BEKO TECHNOLOGIES has, in just over three decades, gained an excellent reputation throughout the world and has acquired a leading position in the compressed air and gas technology fields. The company promotes the profound know-how of its employees not least by the company-owned education center, and thus ensures the company's successful orientation into the future. The company premises in Neuss was significantly expanded in 2016 with additional buildings to meet the ever-growing demands of the company. There are large scale expansion plans slated for 2022 at BEKO TECHNOLOGIES in Atlanta, GA that will double the current facility size. The products are also being continuously developed. Solutions for networking with other components are now available and thereby ensure a smooth, trouble-free transition to the constantly evolving age of digitalisation.
BEKO TECHNOLOGIES GmbH will continue to uphold the vision of its founder Berthold Koch in the future with new pioneering solutions for users of compressed air and compressed gas technologies: BEKO TECHNOLOGIES - an efficiently performing, independent and family-managed company that continues to be progressive with customer focus, social engagement, and a human-related profile.
